Cross Country Skiing- There are numerous miles of cross-country ski trails throughout the forest. There are groomed trails along with miles of untracked snow.  Ask our experience staff to tell you about their favorite spots.

Downhill Skiing-The Snowy Range Ski Area is located 6 miles up the mountain from Centennial. This ski area offers great skiing for a reasonable price. Perfect for families and friends. For more information Call 1-800-Go-2-Snow, or visit www.snowyrangeski.com

Snowshoeing-  There are numerous miles of cross-country ski trails throughout the forest. There are groomed trails along with miles of untracked snow. These trails make for great snow shoeing as well as cross country skiing.  We have snowshoe rentals.           

Winter Camping- is usually enjoyed from October through April.  Camping in developed campgrounds is allowed for a maximum of 14 consecutive days.  Most sites are available on a first come basis.  Camping outside of a campground is allowed and is usually preferred in the winter because access to developed sites is limited in the winter.

Hunting- The forest offers a variety of game. Some of the game animals include elk, mule and white tail deer, antelope, bighorn sheep and black bear. There are also numerous small game animals and birds. Call the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, at 307-745-4046 for information before hunting.

Historic Sites- There are several historic viewpoints along the highway between Laramie and Saratoga.  Visit scenic Encampment and the mining museum. Brochures available at the Mountain View Hotel or online at: www.visitlaramie.org

 Visitor Center- There is a visitor center located 1 mile west of the hotel on HWY 130.  It has information provided by the forest service on near-by attractions and campgrounds.  Call the U.S. Forest Service 307 745-2300 for info.
